Bill began performing in the 1960s in Edinburgh and hasn’t stopped since. For over thirty years he has been a regular contributor to Edinburgh’s premier local commercial radio station, Radio Forth, as a presenter.
​
He has toured solo in Europe, the USA, Canada, the Middle East and the Far East.
​
He also appears regularly on our television screens as everything from hard man to Policeman and appeared in the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Gangs of New York’ as the gang leader of The Shirt Tails.
​
Bill has also appeared in ‘Taggart over the years in many parts including a tattooist, a hairdresser, Police Constable and Police Sergeant. He has also appeared in ‘Rab C. Nesbitt as a Police Constable and Police Sergeant.

He has also appeared in many television plays including:
Sense of Freedom, Gunfight at the Joey Kaye Corral with Mark McManus, Stookie, Tutti Frutti, Take the High Road and later High Road. Down Where the Buffalo Go, Shoot for the Sun with Jimmy Nail, City Lights, Work Horses, Winners and Losers, Dr Finlay & Down Amongst the Big Boys.
